Awgichew Kibret Weldetsadik

Mr. Awgichew Kibret is an Advocate and Legal Consultant at all Federal Courts of Ethiopia as of January 08, 2014 to date. He had also the Federal First Instance Court Advocacy License as of January 09, 2012 till he obtained the all Federal Courts Advocacy license. Before he joined the private legal practice, he was a public prosecutor in the then Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) since October, 2008 up until he obtained the Federal First Instance Court Advocacy License. During his stay, in ERCA as a public prosecutor, he handled a multitude of complex and serious tax and customs related crimes successfully. And he also gave efficient directions to the criminal investigation department of the authority. Additionally, he participated in the drafting of various directives pertaining to tax and customs law. He had also the opportunity to go to the state of Israel to get on job training on customs enforcement course in Israel Tax Authority. All these experiences enabled him to excel his specialization in the area of tax and customs laws. As a result, he continued to handle tax and customs law related civil and criminal cases in his private legal practice which enabled him to be one of the few lawyers who have a strong foot hold in this legal realm. Another legal realm on which the lawyer has a specialization is construction law and engineering. In this area, he successfully and skillfully advised and represented various individual and corporate clients who have legal disputes worth of multi-million dollars before Courts and Alternative Dispute Resolution Fora. Though the above legal realms are the primary legal expertise of the lawyer, he also advised and represented numerous clients in relation to Law of Property and Real state, Commercial Law, Tort Law, Labor and Employment Law, Law of Family and Succession, Law of banking and Insurance, and so on. As far as his experience on Corporate/Transactional Law concerned, he has a reputation in serving profitable and non-profitable corporates clients on the retainer basis as a result which he engages inter alia in legal due diligence, advisory, drafting legal documents and so on.
Masresha Kibret Weldetsadik

Mr. Masresha Kibret is an Advocate and Legal Consultant at all Federal Courts of Ethiopia as of March, 2020 up to date. Prior his Private legal practice, he had been serving as a Public Prosecutor in the Ministry of Justice for over 5 Years since December, 2014. As a Public Prosecutor, he had been directing and instructing the police in the process of criminal investigation. He also prosecuted offenders against whom a substantiated and corroborated criminal investigation file had been presented and litigated on such cases till the finality of the case successfully. He was also a Focal Person for civil affairs, at Lideta District of MOJ, in charge of advising and representing various governmental institutions and pauper individuals who are eligible to get the free legal aid service arranged by the Ministry. In relation to this duty, Mr. Masresha had been undergoing all activities in the civil proceeding as any attorney practicing law in the private sphere. All these experiences enabled him to enhance his career development in both criminal and civil legal matters. After joining the private legal practice, he directly collaborated with his siblings Mr. Awgichew Kibret and established the law firm in a de facto form up until the firm was formally established on 15th of March 2023. Along with managing the law firm, he continued to advise and represent corporate and individual clients in handling their civil and criminal cases. He has ample experience on several legal realms among which corruption, terrorism and other white collar crimes, law of family and succession, labor & employment, property & real estate, tort, banking, insurance, and other commercial cases. The fact that he represented clients before Courts and Alternative Dispute Resolution Fora helped him to excel his professional career both in the Regular and Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms.

Before she joined the Bar, as an advocate and legal consultant, she had been serving in various profitable and non-profitable organizations which helped her to enhance her career development in various areas of law. She had been serving as an advocate assistant and law clerk from 10th Jan. 2012 to 30th June 2013, in the Law Office of Mr. Awgichew Kibret(Founder of the Law Firm), as a Director General from 11th July 2013 to 8th Feb.2014 in a non-profitable organization named Center for Excellence in Environment for Design, City Planning and Construction(CeDE), as a Legal Advisor from 25th Mar. 2014 to 01 Nov.2018 in TAF OIL PLC, YIBETEN Consult PLC and SOTEN Industrial Engineering PLC consecutively. In the above professional Journey, she has developed skills which enable her to render a quality legal service in both corporate/transactional law and litigation.
